J. Michael’s has been trading since 1920 when the first shop was situated in Leicester before moving to its current premises in 1946.

The Michael family butchering skills have been passed down the generations from founder John. R. Michael to the present MD, David Michael. As the business approaches its 90th anniversary, Scott Langton has joined the business as Store Manager, helping to bring trading into the 4th generation.

The significant revamp and enlargement of the premises make it one of the most unique stores of its type, appealing to the shopper of today. Evolved from a traditional butcher’s shop to a modern meat delicatessen, J. Michael’s now has all the contemporary products and practices associated with a quality high street store.
